Succeedcast: Krista Korelin on trust as the foundation, loyalty as the end product

Rashmi Kasat, host of Succeedcast, and Krista Korelin, VP, Nordic Head of Digital Sales and Customer Experience, Nordea Business Banking Division

For this episode I sat down with Krista Korelin, VP and Nordic Head of Digital Sales and Customer Engagement at Nordea’s Business Banking division, to talk about AI in one of the most regulated sectors there is.

Regulation is not the obstacle people assume

Banking gets treated as a cautionary example in most AI conversations: too regulated, too slow to move. Krista’s experience says otherwise on both the short and long horizon: regulation shapes how you implement AI, it does not stop you from getting real value from it.

Start where the business value actually is

Her sharpest point, and the one I want every client to hear: focus on the key business processes that create the most value, and use AI to remove friction from those specific processes, not a scattershot list of use cases picked for how impressive they sound.

Beyond cost savings

Krista encouraged leaders to take a longer view on the AI ROI: how does AI actually change the business model over time, not just the cost line this quarter. In a business built on trust, that longer view matters more than most. Trust is the foundation of a banking relationship; loyalty is what it produces when the institution gets it right.
